In over 20 years of playing rugby and a couple years training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I've seen dozens, if not hundreds of rotator cuff injuries, tennis and golfers elbow, pulled hamstrings and calf muscles, knee, wrist, elbow tendonitis, knee ligament injuries, ankle and foot pain, strained abdominals, and I’ve treated them all!

I have worked with amazingly talented athletes from the US national rugby team to world champion grapplers and Jiu Jitsu fighters. Similarly, I have been just as honored to work on injured high school student athletes, senior citizen golfers and kids who play flag football.
For years, professional athletes have been seeing chiropractors for treatment of injuries sustained while performing and have returned to action quicker. Top level athletes and their coaches understand the need for a “go between” between the athletic trainer and the orthopedic surgeon. Mind you, as an athlete myself; I have used both with great success. However, after an acute injury, and assuming it is not a case requiring surgery, the trainer is a bit limited in his/her treatment options.
I personally use an athletic trainer, and have an orthopedic surgeon when injuries are exceptionally severe. However, once the initial trauma is stabilized with passive treatments like ice, compression, ultrasound, muscle stimulation, I begin a therapy plan with my chiropractor.
Once I stabilize an injury, then its time to rehab the joints and tissues to allow them to heal and to minimize the formation of adhesions and scar tissue. Through chiropractic adjustments (OF COURSE, I adjust extremities!), some soft tissue work, specific stretching, contrasting ice/heat, and specific strengthening, I have found that the athlete is able to begin training again MUCH quicker than with just rest alone.
As a sportsman I understand and appreciate how important it is to get back on the field, the mat, the course, the gym and will do everything I can to get you back to where you want to be after an athletic injury.
